Their children quickly became ill as they began to sense a very strong smell fill the house.
Lorelei explained: “A little scare. Thank you for your messages and good wishes, we are fine, thank God.
“We turned on a water heater that had no escape route and the carbon monoxide poisoned us all.
“I was exercising with Jedi and my dad, downstairs. Time passed and I was super dizzy, but I thought it was the altitude. Jedi went up with my dad to the top, where the girls were with my mum.
“I picked him [Jedi] up and sat in the girls’ room. Jedi fell asleep, which I thought was very strange, and I started to feel sleepy too and fell asleep.
“The lady who helps us around the house started shouting and telling us to get out quickly.
“We went out because the smell was unbearable. Annette was crying because she felt sick, Jedi was asleep and I was seeing the world upside down.”
Lorelei also revealed how she and her children began vomiting and experiencing headaches as her father tried to turn off the water heater.
She also thanked the medical staff for the treatment they received, as did Falcao.
The former Manchester United and Chelsea star said: “Yesterday in my family we suffered an unexpected event for which my wife, my in-laws and my 5 children were hospitalized.
“Due to this situation, it is not possible for me to accompany the team to the match we have to face in the city of Valledupar. I wish the best to my teammates, to all the fans and to the people of Valledupar, may it be a nice show.
“I would also like to express my most sincere gratitude to the Marly de Chía clinic for the excellent care my family received during their stay at their clinic.
“Thank you all for understanding and for the messages of support!”
