‘This is revolutionary’ people gasp as woman shares hack that’ll declutter your messy shopping bag drawer in minutes
A WOMAN has left people gobsmacked after sharing a super simple trick that will declutter your messy shopping bag drawer in minutes.
And don’t worry, there’s nothing to be ashamed of – we’ve all got a space in our home that’s full of carrier bags.
But if yours is looking particularly messy, and you’re on a mission to tidy up your home, then luckily for you, we’ve got you covered.
One savvy woman, named Krystle Perkins, has shared how she folds up her plastic carrier bags, to save space in her drawers.
Posting on social media, the cleaning and organisation fan demonstrated her quick and easy hack, leaving many open-mouthed.
Not only did people hail her trick ‘genius’, but others called it ‘revolutionary’.
Sharing her advice online, Krystle wrote: “How I fold and store my plastic bags.”
The first step involved getting a shopping bag and smoothing it down evenly.
Once the bag was flat, Krystle then folded the bag in half, lengthways.
After this, Krystle then continued to fold over the bag, smoothing it down after each fold.
Once the bag had been folded into one long strip, Krystle then made a triangle on the bottom of the bag and folded it upwards, to the top of the bag.
To finish off the trick, Krystle simply tucked in the handles, making a tiny carrier bag triangle.
Thrilled with her savvy idea, Krystle penned: “So easy to grab and reuse around the house or drop off at the recycling center.”
Rather than having a drawer full of plastic bags, Krystle, who is on a mission to reduce, reuse and recycle, added hers into a paper bag, in a drawer under her sink, as she explained: “I put mine under the sink.”
The organisation enthusiast confessed that not only will her hack make your home tidy, but even better, it also “saves so much space”.
The Style Sisters Top 3 Decluttering Tips
Charlotte Reddington and Gemma Lilly have over 15 years experience decluttering and organising celebrity homes...
- Out with the old, before in with the new
“It may sound a little ruthless but a one in, one out rule in your home and wardrobe can be effective to avoid over accumulating items in your home,” they said.
“It can also make you more mindful about the purchases you are making.”
- Categorise and contain
“In any space, however big or small – from a utility room to your make-up box – organising items by category is the perfect way to keeping super organised,” they said.
“This allows you to know exactly where everything is and what you’ve got.
“Plus, it will make it super easy for the rest of the household to put away and keep tidy.”
- Storage, storage and more storage!
“Storage is key, especially if space is an issue in the home or if the room is used for items like storing toys for children,” they said.
“Consider decorative storage baskets, side boards with plenty of storage or even a media wall or bookshelves with doors.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @perkinsonparkway, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 75,000 views.
Social media users were gobsmacked by the simple hack and many took to the comments to express this.
