I’m a nail tech, there’s one manicure I point blank refuse to do – you’ll regret it and it looks tacky, cheap and nasty
GETTING your nails done is a nice treat for many with the style and colour of the set you choose being very personal.
Now, a nail technician has shared the type of manicure she refuses to do as she not only doesn’t like them but worries they will affect her reputation.
Catrina Mayfield, from Warwickshire, filmed the video in her car and began by asking if there were other nail techs who didn’t do certain sets.
“You probably guessed it, it’s a full colour, all over white polish,” she said.
She emphasised she meant a “stark white” as opposed to something less opaque.
“It’s not a vibe, it’s not very nice. It looks tacky.”
Catrina said she believes those who get the design will like it “for all of two days” before realising it “looks like Typex.”
“As a nail tech, I don’t want you to be walking round with nails on that ultimately I don’t like because my name and reputation is against that set of nails.
She added she thought it looked “cheap and nasty.”
She told the 1.9 million people who had viewed the video she didn’t want potential clients to think her work was “cheap and tacky.”
Concluding it wasn’t “a vibe” she wrote in the caption: “Gonna ruffle a few feathers with this one.”
However, this wasn’t the only set of nails she suggested she didn’t like, but she didn’t elaborate further about other designs.
In reply to one of the comments, she said she could do a “milky white” but wouldn’t do “bright” ones.
People took to the comments to share their own thoughts on the manicure type, with many saying they liked it.
“I literally love bright white nails [laughing face emoji],” wrote one person.
A second said: “I’m pale so I tell myself that my white nails make me look tanned! Don’t upset me. [crying face and rolling on the floor laughing emoji].”
“Got white on right now, had for two weeks look great! Maybe it’s you,” another commented.
However, others agreed with her.
“I DESPISE white nails, fingers or toes [grinning with sweat emoji]],” penned one viewer.
“White on toes only lol,” a second said.
“I refuse to have all over bright white for the exact same reason! Looks like tippex,” a third wrote.
A fourth said: “Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years. White nails are soooo tacky [crying face emoji].”

Fabulous spoke to Vanessa Charest, an Aesthetic Nurse at London Real Skin in Holborn, who revealed some of the most common tattoos people get removed and the body parts they regret getting inked the most.
“The tattoos that we are currently treating with Laser Tattoo Removal vary.
“Some of the common areas include the lower back on females, and for the men it’s the sleeve of tattoos.
“We have seen a few on the wrists, as well as on the upper part of the back and back of shoulder.
“The most common tattoos include initials or letters that clients are looking to have removed, typically signifying a past relationship, and quotes and sayings are usually quite common.
“Stars and shapes are common amongst females. “

Some said she should do what the client wants her to do as they are paying customers.
“As a nail tech… I’ll do any colour/style my clients pay me to do [rolling on the floor laughing emoji],” said one person.
Someone else penned: “it doesn’t matter if YOU don’t like them it’s what the CUSTOMER WANTS.”
“I don’t know how I’d feel if my nail tech refused something I was paying for [woozy and laughing face emojis],” wrote a third.
“I do not understand service providers that will refuse a paying customer because they don’t like something [crying face emojis]
“Like it’s not your nails and you’re not paying??” a fourth commented.
