Students show off art projects celebrating different cultures
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Some local children were busy studying different cultures this summer, and on Thursday, they had a chance to show what they have learned. Students at A Child's Place at Unity House spent the past four weeks on art projects that celebrate cultures.
Family members visited the school to see the final products.
"I can tell they're really proud," Art Center teacher Sarah Hofheins said. "Even when they're making the projects, they are ready to tell their parents, so they actually get to show their parents what they've been working on."
A Child's Place has been teaching science, technology, engineering, art and math to students in their pre-kindergarten and special education projects thanks to a grant from the Carl E. Touhey Foundation.
