I bet you didn’t know my trick for turning a beach sarong into a top – it’s a great vacation outfit when traveling light
A FASHION fan shared a unique trick that turns a beach sarong into a stylish top.
If you like to travel light on vacation, this helpful tip can save you room in your luggage.
Fashionista Monica D (@blondebeachvibes) shows off her style and fashion hacks on Instagram, where she documents her “daily beach life in Hawaii.”
In a recent video, she demonstrated how to make the most of your beach coverup.
Monica was dressed in a black bandeau top and white pants with her black and white sarong draped over her shoulders.
Although she looked great, she noted that there was a better way to take the look from day to night.
“Don’t wear a sarong like that,” she wrote in the on-screen text.
The Honolulu resident then gave a step-by-step tutorial on how to fashion the long piece of fabric into a stylish top.
Monica elevated her entire look in four easy-to-follow steps.
STEP-BY-STEP
First, Monica made a knot in the middle of the sarong and then placed it on her shoulder.
Next, she pulled the two ends of fabric from the back to the front and tied them together.
After, she brought the part hanging in front to the back and tied those ends together.
“If you are not able to tie the ends, you can tuck the fabric in your pants or skirt, it will look pretty as well,” she said.
She advised viewers to “throw it on with some linen pants and you are ready for any occasion.”
The style enthusiast paired the look with black sunglasses and a big sunhat.
Monica said you can still try the trick with a scarf if you don’t have a sarong.
The results should be similar.
FAB FEEDBACK
Viewers liked how she styled herself and couldn’t wait to try the trick for themselves.
“It looks so cute with a hat!” one wrote.
Another called the hack “groundbreaking.”
“Brilliant! Saved for my next trip (and date night outfit),” someone else shared.
However, one viewer noted that they would still need a second sarong to keep them warm at night.
“Nice. And I need another one to cover my shoulders ’cause I’m still cold,” they explained.
