Prince Harry & King Charles’ ‘Deteriorated’ Relationship Shows the Few Things They Won’t Compromise On

For years now, it’s no secret that the relations between Prince Harry and the rest of his family are quite strained. But while they might put up an icy facade to the cameras, some might think that behind the scenes they’re at least attempting to get along. After all, these were once close family members.

Unfortunately, however, a new source is confirming that tensions are indeed that high between Harry and his dad King Charles III, and his brother Prince William. In fact, they’re only getting worse.

“Prince Harry’s relationship with his father has deteriorated to a new low level,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.

According to the source, Harry and Charles have reached a standstill on the important points they won’t compromise on. “[They are] at loggerheads over Harry’s security requests and are no longer communicating,” a source detailed. In July, in addition to denying Harry’s request for security when he visited the country for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, Charles didn’t make any effort to see his youngest son either.

“Harry has genuine security concerns about the safety of his family in light of Princess Diana’s death and feels that his father can help him in his ongoing battle with RAVEC (the entity that oversees security),” the source added. But while Charles refuses to budge on his end, it seems the royal family has also grown distrustful of Harry too.

“Their rift is not only just tied to security but also the family’s distrust of Harry and Meghan [Markle], including Harry’s tell-all bestselling memoir,” the source said of Spare. 

Knowing how this father-son duo is at odds, one might be asking themselves: why doesn’t Charles grant his son and his family security? Well, according to a royal insider for The Daily Beast, Charles has some concrete reasons.

“It’s because the last thing the Palace wants is Harry and Meghan turning up unannounced on a regular basis or setting up a rival royal court in the U.K.,” the source told the outlet, using their recent successful trip to Nigeria as an example. “As things stand now, they have to give 28 days’ notice when they are coming and essentially need to pre-agree with the cops where they are going to be or might be, at all times. That suits the Palace down to the ground.”

With Harry and Charles adamant on their sides of the argument, it’s hard to imagine them compromising anytime soon.
