Cade Smith was dominant as usual. All around, it was a great win and needed pick-me-up after the news that Tanner Bibee had experienced shoulder tightness and his start was being pushed back to Monday. Stephen Vogt emphasized to Tom Hamilton that this was just precautionary. So there is nothing to worry about. Nope. Absolutely nothing to see here.
Zack Meisel has a nice article for the Athletic on C.C. Sabathia and his journey to his upcoming induction in the Guardians Hall of Fame.
Paul Hoynes has the clarification from Chris Antonetti that they aren't moving Gimenez to shortstop midseason though it does sound like an offseason move there is something they'll consider.
Around MLB:
The Royals won and the Twins were off. The Royals continue playing the depleted Tigers and the Twins are playing the White Sox for seemingly the 80th time this season tonight. So, hopefully the Guardians can scratch out another win or two this weekend.
