Stylist explains the pros of Blake Lively’s haircare routine as star insists: ‘I don’t know anyone who uses conditioner’
BLAKE Lively has beauty fans questioning their haircare routines after admitting this week that she never uses hair conditioner — and insisting that most stars don’t.
The actress claims she has a better system for maintaining her locks, and while a professional stylist tells The U.S. Sun there are benefits, she’s not sure everyone should toss their conditioner out.
STAR STRANDS
The Gossip Girl actress, whose strands have become a star in their own right, is gearing up to launch her own haircare line.
And there’s one thing you won’t find from her new brand called Blake’s Brown – conditioner.
“I don’t know anyone who uses conditioner in my industry,” she told Vogue.
“It’s not that people in the entertainment industry are gifted with better hair,” she added.
“We’re using a different hair system than the process promoted to the mass market.”
With eight products in total, her new line includes two shampoo and mask sets – the Fundamental Nourishing Shampoo and Mask and the Fundamental Strengthening Shampoo and Mask.
There is also a glam mousse in the line that mostly features hints of vanilla and sandalwood.
Rather than buying a standard shampoo and conditioner pair, her two sets of shampoo and hair masks do the taming trick.
One set is meant for those who want stronger strands and the other is for hair in need of hydration, because “your hair needs two things, strength and moisture,” Lively also told the outlet.
To get Blake’s bouncy locks, she shared how you simply shampoo once or twice, depending on how much product you have in your hair.
You then apply the mask and leave on for a minimum of half a minute before rinsing.
You can then switch out the set for the other shampoo and mask pairing the next time you wash your hair.
When it comes to Blake’s routine, conditioner has officially been kicked to the curb.
METHOD TO HER MANE MADNESS
Jennifer Korab of Renaissance Salon and Spa believes that Blake’s method is exactly what your mane needs.
Lively’s new haircare line, called Blake’s Brown, offers moisturizing shampoo and mask sets[/caption]“Blake Lively’s hair care system offers numerous benefits, combining her personal insights and preferences for maintaining her signature healthy, lustrous locks,” Korab told The U.S. Sun.
“Emphasizing natural and high-quality ingredients, her routine reduces the risk of damage from harsh chemicals and promotes overall hair health,” she continued.
She is mostly a fan of the products for their hydrating properties that “nourish the hair, addressing dryness and brittleness while enhancing shine and softness.”
Korab also appreciates the scalp-saving system which she notes uses treatments that both “soothe” and “balance” the scalp, which can help with hair growth and reduce dandruff.
It can especially provides strengthening and repairing results for those in hairy situations from over-coloring or styling their strands.

HOLLYWOOD HAIR
While Lively’s routine might liven up her locks, Korab comments on whether her non-conditioning ways are the Hollywood hair norm.
“I don’t think it is a widespread practice among Hollywood celebrities or wealthy individuals,” she said.
The brand’s natural ingredients help hair to grow strong and healthy[/caption]“The benefits of conditioner in maintaining healthy, beautiful hair make it a staple in most hair care routines,” she added.
Still, when it comes to Blake, the A-lister’s signature strands do offer a few advantages over traditional conditioners, according to Korab.
“The products focus on high-quality, natural ingredients, reducing the risk of damage from harsh chemicals found in many traditional conditioners,” she said.
“This emphasis on natural ingredients also helps maintain the integrity and health of the hair,” she added.
“The line includes a variety of treatments that provide deep hydration and nourishment, effectively addressing specific hair needs that a single conditioner might not fully cover.”
Aside from taming frizz, masks can also help enliven dry and brittle hair so that you too can get Blake’s bouncy waves[/caption]This ensures that hair is able to stay healthy due to the moisture and nutrients it is receiving.
“Healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp, and these products help maintain scalp health better than traditional conditioners, which often overlook this aspect,” she said.
“The line offers robust solutions for damage repair and prevention, helping to maintain hair strength and resilience,” she continued.
“Traditional conditioners may not provide the same level of targeted repair and protection that Blake Brown products can deliver.”
NOT FOR EVERYONE
If you’re wondering whether you should also stop spending on conditioners, she says it comes down to everyone’s individual hair goals.
“Both conditioners and masks play important roles in hair care, but they serve different purposes,” she said.
“Conditioners are designed for daily use, providing immediate moisture, detangling, and smoothing the hair to maintain everyday manageability,” she continued.
The lightweight hydration helps to maintain your mane’s soft and shiny look without “weighing it down.”
Meanwhile, masks offer more intensive benefits that she says “deliver deep conditioning, nourishment, and repair, addressing specific issues like dryness, damage, and frizz.”
“Masks are typically used less frequently, such as once a week, and require a longer application time to achieve their full benefits,” she said.
