The government plans to establish a task force under the corporate affairs ministry to develop the proposed internship scheme, aiming to provide one-year internship opportunities in the top 500 companies to 10 million youth over five years. This was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2024-25.
