Moped duo allegedly snatched chain off 11-year-old girl's neck near Yankee Stadium
THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Two men on a scooter snatched a chain off an 11-year-old girl's neck near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx last month, police said. Friday.
The suspects rode up to the girl before one of them hopped off and ripped the chain off her neck near 161st Street and River Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. on July 13, according to the NYPD. The girl was not injured.
The men then rode off on the scooter and were last seen heading northbound on River Avenue, police said. There have been no arrests.
There have been several moped thefts in New York City over the past year, including a spree where several women had chains snatched off their necks.
Grand larceny incidents have spiked over 15% in the Bronx this year compared to the same time in 2023, according to NYPD data.
