CapMetro collabs with new mobile app for trip planning, route tracking

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- CapMetro riders will have a new way to plan their trips and track arrival times after the transit authority announced its partnership with the mobile app Transit.

The Transit app will help highlight upcoming departure times for both MetroBus and MetroRail lines in the area, featuring real-time locations and updates, CapMetro officials said. Users can use Transit to customize their commutes as a supplement to the CapMetro app, which allows riders to purchase and active bus and rail passes.

Sweetening the deal, CapMetro's partnership with Transit will offer users free access to the app's upgraded service option, Transit Royale. Transit Royale features include:

• Access to all transit lines
• Unlimited transit schedules for any lines, 24/7
• Expanded trip results as part of trip planner use
• Customized themes and icons
