St. Landry Parish deputy arrested for DUI, released

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- A St. Landry Parish Sheriff's deputy was arrested for drunk driving and released over the weekend, officials said.
According to State Police, LSP troopers arrested Jason Vidrine shortly after 2 a.m. July 28. LSP officials said they took him to Opelousas Police Department, where he consented to a chemical breath test, which registered over the legal limit.
Vidrine was released on a summons due to overcrowding at the St. Landry Parish Jail, officials said.
No other details were released.
