Police investigating stabbing in Limassol

Police on Monday are investigating a new incident of violence in Limassol after a knife fight resulted in one man being seriously injured.

According to the police the incident happened around 9pm on Sunday evening in Polemidia. Two men who were roommates were involved in an altercation during which one man was stabbed in the stomach.

The injured man was taken to the Polemidia police station by acquaintances who reported the fight and pointed out the perpetrator.

Officers from the station proceeded to arrest the alleged perpetrator, an Indian national.

The suspect is expected to be taken to the Limassol police department for questioning and to be arrested under a warrant.

The victim underwent surgery for his injuries and is in serious condition at Limassol general hospital.
