Death toll jumps to 30, 35 still missing, in southeastern China floods

BEIJING, China: State media said this week that after days of heavy rains tied to a tropical storm in a city in southeastern China, 30 people were reported dead and 35 are still reported missing.

The death toll jumped from four deaths reported earlier in villages in Zixing, a city in Hunan province. In addition, a mudslide from the same rains killed 15 people in another part of the province.
