GOGGLEBOX star Roisin Kelly has revealed she’s flogging all of her old clothes to fund a £1,000 treat.
The TV beauty and boyfriend Joe Kyle became the first Scots in six years to appear on the hit Channel 4 show after making their debut in 2022.
Since starring on Gogglebox, Roisin has racked up a large social media following.
The style icon is no stranger to wowing fans with her unique fashion sense.
And now fashionistas have the chance to bag her wardrobe as she’s selling off items from her wardrobe on Vinted.
The online marketplace allows people to buy and sell second-hand clothes, shoes and accessories.
It’s completely free to upload items to the app and Vinted does not take a cut of sellers’ profits, instead charging buyers a small fee to purchase each item.
Speaking about her Vinted selling spree, Roisin said: “I used to [do] ASOS hauls all the time but I moved out and now I can’t afford ASOS hauls all the time.
“Every summer I have a box of summer clothes that I put in my wardrobe and then I don’t even wear them, then I put them back in the box and take them out again the next summer. The cycle has to end.
“I’m going to New York in November and I really want to go on a helicopter ride but it’s £1,000. So I need to sell all my clothes on Vinted so I can go on a helicopter.”
Roisin has already racked up more than 100 five-star reviews on the app and currently has 39 items up for sale, including a white ASOS dress for £45.
She’s also flogging a Zara leopard print frock for £12, silver ASOS jeans for £8 and a Sainsbury’s abstract midi for £12.
Urging shoppers to snap up more, she joked: “If you buy my stuff you will have my utmost gratitude.
“And you will know what my home scent is, which I always like to know about people.”
Online marketplaces like Vinted and Depop have millions of users across the UK, with the cost-of-living crisis only increasing their popularity.
Financial pressures in British homes saw sales of second-hand goods jump by 15 per cent to £21 billion in 2022.
One in six people now say they buy used items, according to research commissioned by review site Trustpilot.
So, now’s the perfect time to make yourself some extra cash on the likes of Vinted.
According to the popular platform, sellers do not have to pay tax on earnings they make from the site.
This, HMRC stated, is because selling personal items through platforms like Vinted is not itself taxable.
”If the money a member makes on Vinted over a year is less than the amount they paid for the items they are selling, then there is no tax to pay,” a Vinted spokesperson explained.
”Generally, only business sellers “trading” for profit might need to pay tax.
