MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Service on the L train has been suspended between 8th Avenue and Bedford Avenue in both directions, according to the MTA.

Emergency teams responded to a person struck at the 14th Street-Union Square station, the MTA announced at 7 p.m.

Passengers traveling in Manhattan are encouraged to take the M14A-SBS or M14B-SBS bus. For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, the MTA advises to take an A, C, J, or M train.

Several other subway lines also experienced delays during the evening commute.

Northbound D trains were rerouted on the N line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36 Street as police responded to an unauthorized person on the tracks at 9th Avenue, the MTA announced around 7:16 p.m.

Around 7:14 p.m., northbound 2 and 5 trains ran express from East 180th Street to Gun Hill Road while the MTA investigated why a train's brakes were activated near Bronx Park East.

As of 7:20 p.m., southbound A and C trains were still running with delays due to a switch problem at Broadway Junction, according to the MTA.
