Keir Starmer vows rioters will ‘feel full force of the law’ after emergency Cobra meeting amid fears of more violence
KEIR Starmer has vowed that taking part in unrest will “feel the full force of the law” amid fears of more chaos across Britain.
The Prime Minister chaired another emergency Cobra meeting with relevant ministers and police chiefs this evening regarding tackling the violent disorder that has been taking place in the UK.
The PM said he is expecting “substantive sentencing” for those taking part in the unrest “before the end of this week”.
Speaking to reporters inside Downing Street on Tuesday evening, Sir Keir said: “Those involved will feel the full force of the law… over 400 people now have been arrested, 100 have been charged – some in relation to online activity – and a number of them are already in court.
“I’m now expecting substantive sentencing before the end of this week.
“That should send a very powerful message to anybody involved, either directly or online, that you are likely to be dealt with within a week.
“Nobody, but nobody, should be involved themselves in this disorder.”
It comes as an elite squad of cops are on standby to tackle riots planned in 30 areas across the UK.
An army of 6,000 riot officers are preparing to intervene on a swathe of “Enough is Enough” events set for tomorrow night.

Fears over tomorrow night come after a far-right Telegram channel told its followers to “mask up” for raids at 39 locations – including London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister vowed a “Standing Army” of specialist cops will be on hand to crush thugs.
Intelligence units are monitoring social media and going after TikTok warriors responsible for serious offending and organising attacks on hotels housing migrants and mosques.

More than 400 people have now been arrested over the week of carnage on England and Northern Ireland’s streets.
And country’s top prosecutor is considering bringing “terrorism offences” against the worst offenders.
The Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Parkinson said: “There are sentencing guidelines which indicate that many people who have been caught up in this disorder will face immediate imprisonment. There should be no doubt about that. They are going to prison.
“We are willing to look at terrorism offences. I’m aware of at least one instance where that is happening.
“Where you have organised groups planning activity for the purposes of advancing [an] ideology… planning really, really serious disruption then yes, we will consider terrorism offences.”
