Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Olympics after surpassing the weight limit ahead of the women’s 50kg final. Previously assured of at least a silver medal, she now returns empty-handed. Phogat made history as the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the gold medal bout before being disqualified for exceeding the weight limit by 100 grams.
