After years of struggling with webs in her windows, she revealed her go-to pest control fix.

The poster revealed that there are certain scents the creatures are repulsed by.
One of the plants the Reddit user has found to be successful is lavender.
According to experts at Midway Pest Management, lavender is an effective scent for deterring spiders.
“Most bugs and insects, as well as spiders, hate strong aromatic smells,” they explained.
The Redditor also recommended adding mint plants to your windows sills.

She explained that the scent is “known to deter spiders from building their webs near [it].”
“I’ve had success with mint, and I’ve had success with tea tree oil,” she added.
And if looking after plants isn’t your thing, the poster suggested a simple solution.
“You can also spray essential oils with these scents anywhere spiders are a problem,” she said.
Tea tree oil is another scent that works to repel spiders, with pest control professionals suggesting various ways to use the product.
“Aside from spray, you can also drop essential oils in a cotton ball and place it in known hiding places,” they explained.
The Redditor also recommended opting for a eucalyptus plant to deter spiders from your home.
According to the experts at Midway Pest Management, eucalyptus is another effective scent.
