Get Ready for a Hot August Night at Peterborough Speedway
Temperatures have been on the rise and the battles for track titles are heating up as Peterborough Speedway enters the home stretch of its 2024 regular season schedule.
Saturday, August 10th catch a full night of exciting short track action with a 50-lap SwitchTire Mini Stock headliner, plus the home track Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck and Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model divisions. Also on this weekend’s line-up will be the OMRS Modifieds and double features for the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series. Grandstand gates open at 4:00, with racing at 5:00.
“At this time of the year, every lap raced and any position gained on the track could potentially make a difference in the overall standings for the championship fight,” explained Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Every racer is looking for an edge that could help pave the way to the overall title.”
Heading into this weekend’s action, teammates are battling for the crown in a pair of the track’s weekly divisions. Chris Tubman has a 7-point cushion over Rob Crick in the Mini Stock standings, while Howie Crowe enjoys a lead of the same margin on Mark Gordon in the Renegade Truck rundown.
Wyatt Beatty is 13-points ahead of Gracelynn MacInnes in the Junior Late Model ranks, with Lucas Finnegan is enjoying an advantage of 46-points over reigning track champion Lucas Cousineau in the Pro Junior Late Model field.
The 2024 regular season schedule continues Saturday, August 17th with the year’s 3rd and final Double Toonie/Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Pepsi. With $4.00 spectator grandstand admission, check out the home track Bone Stock, Mini Stock, Super Stock and Late Model divisions, with a driver autograph session at intermission. The line-up will also include the inaugural Reverse Race and Flagpole Race attractions.
