Inside Out 2 Is Heading to Streaming Island
After creating a core memory at the box office by becoming the No. 1 movie of the year (and the top-grossing animated movie of all time), Inside Out 2 is making its way to the newly formed Streaming Island. The Pixar animated sequel will be available for purchase digitally on Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Fandango at Home starting on August 20. But if physical media is more your thing, you’ll have to wait a bit longer as the DVD, Blu-rays, and 4K discs will only release on September 10. Bonus features are also coming to these new releases — including five deleted scenes, an alternate opening, a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s new cast of emotions, and a making-of documentary. (Disney notes that these may vary by retailer.) That’s a lot for you and your kids to watch, and re-watch, and re-watch.
Still no word on an exact streaming date, but we’ll keep this post updated as we learn more. Given that Disney committed to giving the film a 100-day theatrical window, and Inside Out 2 went on to massive box-office success after its June 14 release date, the earliest we can expect it is sometime in September, once these other home-video releases are out of the way.
