CLASS OF 2024-25 | MEET MERT APAT

Dartford boss Ady Pennock moved quickly to secure the signature of Mert Apat, after the player had impressed during the pre-season.

And the 20-year-old’s performances throughout recent friendlies defies his young age, as he put his body on the line numerous times in order to protect the Dartford goal. The tall centre-half offers a commanding presence, and uses his voice as much as his head whilst out on the pitch, while throwing in timely challenges when required.

With additional energy and composure, Mert offers Ady another option to play alongside Josh Hill, Luther Williams, and George Whitefield in the central defensive positions.

Mert also brings experience with him, despite his young age. Starting his playing career with Leyton Orient’s U18s, he then went on to represent FC Barkingside, Wingate FC, Great Wakering Rovers, and Hendon, before playing for Concord Rangers in the Isthmian Premier League last season.
