Report: Bournemouth agree club-record Dominic Solanke sale to Tottenham
Multiple reliable journalists are now reporting that Bournemouth have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Dominic Solanke.
Tottenham want Dominic Solanke
Some Spurs fans were understandably starting to get concerned about the lack of big-money moves from the Lilywhites but that looks set to change, with Solanke now expected to arrive through the door at Hotspur Way.
If the latest updates are to be believed, the move could be imminent after the Cherries and Spurs struck an agreement for the 26-year-old.
Journalist Duncan Castles has revealed on The Transfers Podcast that Andoni Iraola’s men have reached an agreement with Spurs over the player’s transfer.
He also tweeted: ‘Understand that Bournemouth have agreed to sell Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur for a club-record transfer fee. • Bournemouth had been open to selling this window as reported.’
Tottenham and Bournemouth agree a fee
While Castles does not reveal how much the deal is worth, he states that the South Coast club have agreed on a club-record sale, overtaking their previous record: Nathan Ake’s £40m move to Manchester City in 2020.
This has also been backed up by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who added that Solanke has also agreed personal terms with Spurs and is desperate to complete the move.
He tweeted: ‘Bournemouth have agreed to sell Dominic Solanke for a club-record fee & talks with Tottenham Hotspur continue to finalise transfer. Personal terms in place & 26yo striker desperate to complete move from Bournemouth to Spurs.’
Spurs Web Opinion
I am absolutely over the moon with this news as I believe Solanke is the best option we could have got this summer from the strikers available.
He is of the right age, is homegrown, has Premier League experience and is also a great stylistic fit for Postecoglou.
