Trump signaled he 'thinks he's losing' during his 'weird press conference': conservative

According to a former Republican National Committee spokesperson, conservatives should be alarmed by a concession by Donald Trump during his Mar-a-Lago press conference that he is agreeing to more debates with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Speaking with MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire on "Way Too Early," Tim Miller told the host that any candidate who is far ahead in the polls would never agree to give their opponent more campaign oxygen, which means the former president is all too aware he is losing.

"Seems like Harris has momentum, and from what we saw yesterday, Donald Trump doesn't know how to respond. He seems he may be panicking," host Lemire prompted his guest.

"He definitely looks like he is panicking," Miller agreed. "He definitely thinks he is losing. Before the break, you were talking about the debates and how now Donald Trump wants three. I think it is a pretty good rule of thumb that a candidate that wants more debates is the candidate that thinks they're losing. If Donald Trump thought he was winning, he wouldn't debate."

"We know that for sure because he refused to debate in the primary because he was winning the whole time and so I think the Trump campaign thinks they're losing," he elaborated. "I think his behavior yesterday during that weird press conference showed it. I also still think it's a very close race. The Marquette poll is an outlier — let's see how things look. It takes a few weeks for big changes in a race to really sink in with voters and sink in with the polls."

"We've had so many big changes over the last two weeks, so, you know, I think that maybe you don't want to get too exuberant if you're in the Harris/Walz team right now, but certainly the arrow is pointing the right direction," he cautioned.
