Carl’s heartbroken girlfriend confirmed the tragic news on his Facebook page

His heartbroken partner, Bev, confirmed the tragic news on Carl’s Facebook page.

She wrote: “Hello everyone, this is Bev, Carl’s girlfriend.

“I’m heartbroken to say that our lovely, crazy boy has sadly passed very suddenly.

“I hadn’t posted sooner because I wanted some time to let close friends and family know in person so thank you all so much for being respectful.

“As you might imagine, me, his daughter, parents, friends and family are all absolutely devastated.

“I will of course share more information when I have it and there will be a time to share the memories, but in the meantime much love to you all.”

Carl sadly leaves behind his daughter, Connie, as emotional tributes pour in.

One wrote: “I am stunned and so so sad to read this news this evening. Bless you Carl. What a gem. Bev I can’t imagine what you are going through right now. Sending all my love and strength to you and all of Carl’s close family and friends.”

“I’m so so sorry for your loss and a truly great loss for the world too my heart goes out to you all,” shared another heartbroken fan.

A third wrote: “This is so sad such a talent in so many aspects . He will be missed by the World. Love to all the family I hand his paintings and listen to his music with the privilege that I knew him.”

“I am so sad to hear this news. Great drummer and artist. He will be sadly missed by many,” said a fellow fan.

Carl was inspired to become a musician by his father as a child and made his big break as part of the 60ft Dolls when he was still a teen.

The self-confessed former party animal once told the BB: “There was a lot of gigs, a lot of laughter and stuff got broken and brain cells sacrificed in the name of rock’n’roll.”

The 60ft Dolls performed at legendary festivals from Glastonbury to Reading, and T in the Park.

They played on the same stages as iconic acts such as Oasis, the Foo Fighters and Iggy Pop.

But in more recent years Carl put down his drumsticks and picked up paint brushes instead.

“Painting has been amazing for my sanity, especially in lockdown,” he said in 2020.

His artwork, shared on his social media platforms Carl Bevan Art, has amassed thousands of fans.

The ex-drummer was inspired by the landscape on countryside walks with his pooch Billy and he worked from a studio in his Cardiff house.

Eventually, the artist crafted his masterpieces at Bridge Studios.
