Journalist reveals how much Spurs are paying Bournemouth for Solanke
Gary Jacob has revealed how much Tottenham are expected to pay Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke this summer, as the Lilywhites close in on the transfer.
Tottenham are close to Solanke
The reports linking Solanke with a move to Tottenham have now gone into hyperdrive, with some reliable sources now suggesting that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
This includes Duncan Castles (The Transfer Podcast) and David Ornstien (The Athletic), who have both asserted that the Cherries have agreed on a club-record sale of the striker to Spurs.
However, this has been contradicted by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who has remarked that while Spurs are in advanced talks to sign the former Liverpool man, a full agreement is yet to be finalised.
Tottenham will pay £60m for Solanke
Despite his release clause being set at £65m, Tottenham have managed to negotiate a £5m discount with Bournemouth and will pay a total of £60m for Dominic Solanke, according to Gary Jacob.
Spurs insider, Paul O’Keefe, also took to Twitter this morning to reveal that Tottenham will pay £57m for the transfer, as well as another £3m in add-ons.
The North London club have also agreed to pay £30m of the fee upfront, which is likely why Bournemouth were open to a discount on Solanke’s release clause value.
O’Keefe tweeted: ‘Tottenham have agreed to pay Bournemouth £57m for Dominic Solanke with £30m up-front. Some minor add-ons on top of that figure of approximately £3m. Working to complete the deal for striker who desperately wants to come.’
Spurs Web Opinion
£60m is a lot to pay for Dominic Solanke but the main thing is that Postecoglou is getting the player he wants for his Tottenham rebuild.
Who knows, it might look like a bargain in a few years.
