0

Noah Lyles is sadly bowing out of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

On Thursday (August 8), the 27-year-old Team USA athlete competed in the 200-meter race, just two days after testing positive for COVID-19.

He ended up winning bronze, but had to be taken off the track in a wheelchair.

Hours later, Noah announced that his Olympics journey was over as he continued to battle COVID.

Keep reading to find out more…“First I want to thank God for getting me through this entire Olympics!” Noah wrote on Instagram. “Second I want to congratulate @tebogo_letsile_, @kenny_bednarek and everyone else on an amazing Olympic 200m final. Finally I want to thank everyone for the supportive messages.”

“I believe this will be the end of my 2024 Olympics. It is not the Olympic I dreamed of but it has left me with so much Joy in my heart,” Noah continued. “I hope everyone enjoyed the show. Whether you were rooting for me or against me, you have to admit you watched, didn’t you? ???? See you next time.”

Last weekend, Noah won the gold medal in the 100-meter race in a photo-finish moment.

We wish Noah Lyles a speedy recovery.
