Report: Blow for Tottenham as target is set for shock move to Chelsea instead
Spurs have seen one of their transfer targets, Pedro Neto, snatched away from them as Chelsea agree a €60m (£51.4m) fee (Fabrizio Romano).
Neto was a target for Tottenham
Fabrizio Romano revealed recently that Pedro Neto remained a top target for Tottenham this summer as they look to strengthen their front line.
The Wolves winger has missed 102 games through injury across the past four seasons (TransferMarkt).
It hasn’t stopped Neto from earning plenty of admirers, however, with champions, Manchester City, as well as Liverpool previously believed to hold interest in the player. (Telegraph)
The Wolves star is now set to move to Chelsea
In a shock revelation, Chelsea are now expected to sign Pedro Neto after agreeing to a €60m (£51.4m) fixed fee for the Portuguese wideman, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea have reportedly matched Wolves’ initial price tag for the 24-year-old with The Blues’ €3m (£2.57m) in add-ons taking the total offer to potentially €63m (£54m).
Personal terms have also already been agreed with Enzo Maresca’s side and a medical has been arranged.
Spurs Web opinion
It is a blow that Tottenham look set to miss out on what was believed to be one of their top transfer targets, especially with Neto’s one-on-one ability being ideal for Postecoglou’s system.
Neto’s injury record is obviously a concern however and Spurs aren’t devoid of options with the window still being open for almost another three weeks and many players, such as Eze, yet to make a move elsewhere.
