Partial road collapse on Mechanic Street in Ballston Spa

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Ballston Spa Mayor Frank Rossi has announced Mechanic Street, between Kent Street and Ford Street, is closed due to a partial road collapse. The closure is expected to last through the weekend, as local traffic and deliveries should be the only cars to drive on that block until it is fully reopened.

The Department of Public Works is on the scene assessing and working to find the best solution to fix the roadway. Mayor Rossi says it runs over a canyon-like trough that is likely over a century old.
