Arrest made in Broadalbin church fire investigation
BROADALBIN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a man for allegedly setting fire to the Broadalbin First Presbyterian Church on July 16. Leon Nadeau, 39, was charged with second-degree arson.
Deputies say Nadeau allegedly set fire to the rear entrance of the church while members of the church were still working inside. The fire caused heavy damage to the rear church entrance.
State Police previously arrested Nadeau for allegedly being behind a string of arsons in Broadalbin between July 16 and July 18. He is currently incarcerated and will appear in the Town of Broadalbin Court at a later date.
