I gave my old tatty caravan a makeover with Facebook freebies & IKEA bargains – my cheap Shein buy made a big difference
A WOMAN has revealed that she has given an old, tatty caravan a mega makeover, without breaking the bank.
Erica, a mother from the UK, bought a 2004 Lunar Lexon caravan, which was in need of modernising, and has since transformed it from drab to fab all whilst on a budget.
Posting on social media, the savvy DIY fan gave her followers a close-up look at the van before its epic overhaul.
Following this, she then left people open-mouthed as she shared the caravan’s impressive glow up, which has been done thanks to freebies and bargain buys from the high-street.
Alongside the clip of her tiny home on wheels, Erica wrote: “Witness the colourful makeover of our old caravan into a vibrant, upcycled haven!
“We revamped the walls, cupboards, handles, flooring, and added colourful decor.”
She then added: “Upcycled and reused materials all the way!”
What was once a very dated space, which was lacking any personality with its boring brown cupboards, old carpet and green sofas, has since been given a total new look, and is now the ultimate colourful caravan.
Erica opened up to Fabulous about her budget renovation, as she confirmed that she used dark grey, white and turquoise paints from Crown to brighten up the caravan.
Not only this, but she also used gold cupboard handles from Amazon and gold bathroom vinyl tiles, also from Amazon, to really make the space pop.
Erica nabbed her parquet effect vinyl flooring, which is incredibly on trend, from Factory Direct Flooring, and replaced the smoked glass drinks cabinet doors with fretwork from an old radiator cover that she got for free from Facebook Marketplace.
One thing that has really transformed the space was the dark navy seat covers, which Erica ordered online, from Shein.
The kitchen area is now totally unrecognisable thanks to splashback wallpaper from Amazon and taps from Facebook Marketplace.
As well as this, Erica also kitted the caravan out with a new sink from Victoria Plum, as well as a wooden chopping block and utensils from IKEA.
