Two Lafayette teens arrested, charged with attempted murder

CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) -- Two teenagers were arrested after a shooting incident Wednesday evening, authorities said.
Lauren Benoit, 18, and Braylen Newton, 18, both of Lafayette, were each charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Officials said the two were involved in a shooting incident in the 1200 block of Bajat Road outside Carencro just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night. The two victims in this case were not injured during the incident, authorities said.
Bond details were not released.
