0

In a second joint statement released on Thursday (Aug. 8), the governments of Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico called for the immediate release of the Venezuelan presidential election results, including detailed data broken down by polling station.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) has yet to publicly release the voting data from each of the more than 30,000 polling stations, as mandated by national legislation.

In the statement, the governments of the three countries reiterate their call to Venezuelan political and social actors to exercise the utmost caution and moderation in demonstrations and public events. They also urged Venezuela's security forces to ensure that democratic rights are upheld in accordance with the law, while maintaining respect for human rights in all situations.

The three governments reaffirm their commitment, as stated in the August 1 communiqué, to engage in ongoing discussions to help Venezuela find solutions to the current scenario. They reiterate their readiness to support dialogue and efforts aimed at fostering political stability and democracy in the country.

President Nicolás Maduro has announced that he will release all the minutes held by his party by this Friday (9).
