Lindfield rescues point for the Bay

0

CRAIG LINDFIELD got his first goal of the season to rescue a point for the Seagulls in a 1-1 draw against Llay Miners Welfare.

The visitors had gone ahead with an unfortunate own goal by Jay Owen to lead at half-time, but Linfield got Bay’s equaliser on 57 minutes and although they pushed for a winner they could not find a way past Llay keeper Michael Jones.

The Bay had early chances with Sol Forde heading just wide from a corner while a Josh Carey shot clipped the post after a good break down the right.

The Bay also had a big shout for a penalty waved away by the referee when Carey looked to be taken out in the box.

At the other end it needed a great tackle by Sol Forde to deny Llay when they broke dangerously.

The second half equaliser came from a great cross by Cai Owen, playing his 100th game for the Bay, which was helped on by Gwion Daffyd for Craig Lindfield to score.

Another excellent cross by Cai saw a Lloyd Marsh-Hughes effort saved by the keeper, who also saved well from Josh Carey, with a header from the corner going over the bar.

Josh Carey saw another effort from 20 yards go wide as the Bay battled in vain for a winner.
