Doorman saves woman from attempted sexual assault near Gracie Mansion
UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) -- A building doorman is a local hero after saving a woman on Saturday morning, according to police.
Investigators say a 19-year-old was walking on 90th Street near York Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. when an unknown man shoved her and began trying to sexually assault her.
That’s when a doorman at a building nearby heard the commotion and jumped into action, authorities say. He managed to scare off the man who was attempting to assault the 19-year-old.
Police say they’re continuing to look for the man wanted in connection with the alleged assault. He’s described as being 6-feet-tall and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with white stripes and dark jeans, according to officials.
