Pakistan Army successfully tests Shaheen-II Ballistic Missile
The Pakistan Army has announced that it successfully launched the “Shaheen-II” surface-to-surface ballistic missile.
According to a statement by the Pakistan Army, the launch took place on Tuesday, August 20, in the presence of senior officers from the Strategic Programs Division, the Strategic Forces Command, and scientists and engineers from the Strategic Organization.
The Pakistan Army stated that the purpose of this missile test was to train the forces, validate technical features, and evaluate the performance of various systems to improve accuracy and enhance survivability.
Pakistani leaders, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, congratulated the successful launch of the Shaheen-II ballistic missile.
Previously, the Pakistan Navy had also announced the successful testing of several new missiles, known as “F.N.6.”
Pakistan consistently strives to enhance its military and defensive capabilities by strengthening its missile and military technology in competition with regional countries.
It is worth noting that the “Shaheen-II” surface-to-surface ballistic missile is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads with a range of up to 1,500 kilometers.
The successful launch of the Shaheen-II missile underscores Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance its strategic deterrent capabilities.
