Junky conditions
Hello Friends,
Wind’s been blowing NNE since yesterday and the ocean’s looking very junky and choppy. Add in a peaking tide at 0915, and this morning was not offering much incentive to get in the water. Swell energy is still there with the 0800 data from the MHL buoy showing a mix of short period NE along with close to 2 metres of 13-second south swell. But the surface conditions are making that beside the point.
It might be worth keeping an eye on it this afternoon as the Bureau says the wind will swing westerly this evening, which might possibly mean improved conditions for a late arvo go-out. Tomorrow and Friday will see westerly wind but fading swell energy. I’m thinking tomorrow am could be the go at tide-tolerant south magnets …
Have a great Wednesday!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea, extending a ridge into northeastern New South Wales. Meanwhile, a trough crossing central New South Wales will move over the southern and central coast during today with a moderate to fresh westerly wind change in the wake. Then the trough is forecast to linger over the northern coast while another trough brushes the state’s far south on Thursday. This will be followed by another high pressure system crossing the coast on Friday.
