Spurs are still considering new midfield signing despite Bergvall hopes – Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that those at Tottenham are extremely pleased with the start Lucas Bergvall has made to his Spurs career, with many expecting big things from the midfielder.
People at Spurs are excited about Bergvall
There was plenty of excitement about Bergvall’s arrival at Spurs, with the midfielder being considered to be a potentially generational talent back in Sweden as well as by many who work in the game.
Given that the teenager is coming straight from the Allsvenskan, many would have expected him to take a year or so to adapt to the demands of football at the highest level.
However, that has not been the case so far, with the 18-year-old looking completely at home at Spurs, arguably being the club’s best performer in pre-season.
Bergvall was handed his Premier League debut against Leicester City on Monday, coming on as a substitute in the latter stages of the game as the Lilywhites went in search of a winner.
The youngster was completely unfazed by the occasion, looking extremely accomplished on the ball and looking quite lively.
Spurs are still considering a new midfield signing
Romano believes that many people at Spurs are excited about the player that the Swede is going to evolve into in the future. He also added that Tottenham are still considering a potential extra midfield signing.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “They are very happy with Lucas Bergvall, the impact of Bergvall has been excellent, and they believe they signed a top, top talent for present and future, ready for Premier League impact. So they are still considering that internally.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I am cautious of judging signings too early, especially younger players, as many tend to start well before falling off.
However, I cannot help but be excited about Bergvall, who appears to have all the attributes to evolve into a top-class player.
