DMV announces new customer service website
ALBANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has announced the launch of an improved website to help with customer service.
The redesign -- which the DMV says will be more user-friendly -- has a more intuitive interface with streamlined content. According to the DMV New Yorkers will now be able to seamlessly navigate to several services provided by the department.
"We are keenly aware that most New Yorkers interact with DMV, and the best way for us to connect easily is through our website,” DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder said in a statement. “We revamped the look and feel of our website and upgraded to the latest version of the web platform to make sure our site is stable and easy to use. This update is just one part of the major transformation we are undergoing here at DMV, all with the ultimate goal of helping our valued customers get their business done as quickly and easily as possible.”
The redesign is part of a four-year project by the DMV to improve customer service, as well as the efficiency of critical services. Other projects initiated by the DMV include the recent introduction of New York Mobile ID, which allows New Yorkers to use a digital version of their drivers license or other forms of identification on their smartphone.
The DMV has also begun the modernization of their computer systems, by replacing computers systems that they say are over 50 years old.
Motorists can access the new website at the link here.
