Youngsville FD receives donation of Fido Bags to help save pets
YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) -- The Youngsville Fire Department has received supplies aimed at helping them save pets when they are called out to emergencies.
The Fido Bag program provides lifesaving tools to administer medical attention to your family's pet at the point of rescue. Each bag contains a resuable oxygen mask that will fit a small pet to the muzzle of a large dog, leashes, straps, a travel pet water bowl and more.
Youngsville Fire Captain Lindy Bolgiano said the bags were donated by the nonprofit Fetch Foundation. That group's founder, Marie Peck, said they hope to put a Fido Bag "on every fire truck in the country to help rescue our four-legged friends."
"Pets are family too, and now we are able to save their lives in an emergency," Peck said.
