‘America’s Got Talent’ season 19 episode 11 performances ranked: Top 11 acts from worst to best

On August 20, 2024, the 11th episode of “America’s Got Talent” season 19 aired the second live episode of the summer. Host Terry Crews welcomed back judges Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara. Only four competitors from this episode will make the cut and move on in the competition.

But who were the best acts from this episode? And who is most likely to be eliminated? Below we rank the 11 acts from worst to best. Do any of Tuesday’s acts have what it takes to win the million dollars this year?

Season 19 Episode 11 Rankings:

11. Schumacher: First and foremost, I absolutely loved every performance in this episode tonight, so good luck picking three acts America! Last I saw them, Schumacher was not my cup of tea. Turns out, this act is in my wheelhouse after all — I loved this one! I still think the Golden Buzzer for them in the first round was ridiculous, though. 

10. Alex Sampson: Alex is a great singer and has a fun personality. In any other week, this song would have me easily going “send him to the next round now” but this week is so stacked that somehow, he ended up being less memorable for me. The resemblance to Shawn Mendes was even more evident with an outfit that the artist would probably wear too. I still think he has a huge chance to advance to the next round. Simon hit it on the nose that Alex was visibly nervous.

9. Brooke Bailey: She has an amazing voice that makes me so happy. Her audition was good, but this was incredible. Bonus points for noting that she possibly could be eliminated like Liv Warfield, an elimination I am still not over. Out of the solo singers tonight, she stands the best chance at advancing to the next round. Howie and Simon were not as impressed though, which might affect her voting base.

8. Bboy Samuka: This performance made me happy and conflicted all at once. Yes, he was amazing and rocked that stage like he does this on the regular. Saying that, I am not quite sure if it hit as well with the voting audience as it did with the in-studio crowd based off the social media reaction.

7. Ashlee Montague: This performer loves what she does, which is bizarre since she is really risking major injury every time. Adding fire was great and the ladder trick was terrifying. Will she advance to the next round? Probably not, but where else can you see an act like this? Howie was not as impressed.

6. AIRFOOTWORKS: Once Howie was announced the Golden Buzzer, my first thought was “Well AIRFOOTWORKS is probably going straight to the finale.” Howie is their biggest fan on the judging panel after all. This performance was incredible and had everyone on the same page, including social media. Simon and Howie argued over credit for the Golden Buzzer, but either way…. they just might be the best use of the Golden Buzzer in AGT history.

5. NiNi: Closing out the night, NiNi rocked the “AGT” stage as only she can. In a strange way, she just might be the coolest act of the season. There is no doubt in my mind that she could headline a Vegas show and become a huge star. Bonus points for having an amazing time while doing it. 

4. Legión: Kicking off the episode, this act was, as my friend described it, “en fuego.” This was a performance not only worth a spot in the next round of the competition, but a spot in the finale. With Howie having the Golden Buzzer, I figured it would not be a repeat for them, but I did not expect him and Simon to not love it. Honestly, Heidi summed it up best, saying it was “muy caliente.” I still think they stand a fighting chance to advance despite the two naysayers. 

3. Young-Min: This performance blew my mind. I was expecting him to be good, but this was far superior to his audition by a mile. The timing was perfection and the magic itself was nothing I have ever seen before. He even improved the moods of Simon and Howie, who turned those frowns upside down. Saying that, if you look closely, the camera did give away how the headband trick works…a spool that was rolling up the headband. Expect to see him in the next round. 

2. Biko’s Manna: This act is pure joy. They never fail to miss the target and sounded great. I still am a bit confused why the third member is there, but he is so much fun to watch! Honestly, I would love to see them in the finals.

1. Sky Elements: If any act this season has the most potential to be a huge Vegas hit, it’s Sky Elements. Imagine what they can do in a large open air auditorium or a huge theater! This performance was easily the first time of the night that had me thinking “They are absolutely going to the next round!”
