Smooth and small but not flat

0

Hello Friends,
As expected, the wind’s come around to the westerly quarters and as of 0700 was only 5-6 kts. That’s making for smooth surface conditions and giving the half-metre or so of 13-sec SE swell a better chance than yesterday morning. Surf’s struggling to make the waist high mark at Dee Why but if you’ve found a well aligned peak, the odd fun one is a definite possibility. Tide’s coming in to the 1005 high so that will be working against you. The swell models are telling us to expect our energy levels to fade away to near-flat by tomorrow. I’m hoping the Goat will see something I’m missing about the coming surf week because the models are not showing much of anything this morning that I can see.
Have yourself a top old Thursday. Weather Situation
A decaying trough lies over northeast New South Wales bringing strong west to northwesterly winds to northern waters, while another trough brushes the the southern and central waters this morning. Meanwhile, a high pressure system will then cross the coast and move over the Tasman Sea during Friday. Northerly winds will increase over NSW waters during the weekend as a series of troughs and cold fronts brush the state’s south and west.
Forecast for Thursday until midnight
