Canal Recreationway 2050 Plan holds virtual forum
WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Canal Recreationway Commission and the Canal Corporation are working on the Canal Recreationway 2050 Plan, and they're asking the public for their thoughts. The plan is in celebration of the Erie Canal's bicentennial.
A virtual forum was held on Wednesday to allow people to share their ideas and vision for the canal system's future. Organizers said the plan is meant to update the canal system, which spreads 524 miles, for the next 25 years.
Anyone with ideas to contribute can fill out an online survey.
