China has voiced firm opposition to any country permitting visits by the Dalai Lama under any circumstances, according to a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry. This follows a meeting between senior U.S. officials and the Dalai Lama in New York on Wednesday. The U.S. State Department stated that they reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the human rights of Tibetans.
