I’m very excited’ admits Countryfile’s Adam Henson as he reveals new project away from hit BBC show
COUNTRYFILE star Adam Henson shared he was ‘very excited’ about participating in a Q&A session for his new book.
The farmer has appeared in the BBC show since 2001 but has taken on other projects over the years.
On Friday (August 23), Adam paid a visit to Dunkertons Cider in Cheltenham for a talk about his new children’s book.
He posted on Instagram: “I’m really pleased and very excited to be going to Dunkerton’s on the 23rd August to talk about my new book, Curious Questions from Adam’s Farm.”
Dunkertons’ caption read: “Adam will share insights from his new children’s book, ‘Curious Questions from Adam’s Farm’ and will answer all your little ones’ questions in a fun, engaging, and educational talk!
“Your child will have the chance to meet rabbits and feathered friends, while you can purchase a signed copy of Adam’s book and enjoy a meet & greet and photo opportunity with him.”
He has already written several books, including Cotswold Farm Park (2012) and Like Farmer Like Son (2016), to name a few.
Over the years, Adam appeared in other TV series including Lambing Live and Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen.
Last month, fans showed their support after he shared applications for a bursary created in memory of his late father were now open.
Joe Henson started the Cotswold Farm Park which is now run by his son.
The star told his followers: “I’m pleased to announce that applications for the Three Counties Agricultural Society Bursary in Memory of Joe Henson MBE are now open.
“The bursary supports those within the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire venturing into further education in agriculture or related subjects.
“It supports up to three years of study, with up to £1,000 per annum provided each year.”
Countryfile viewers soon flocked to Adam’s comments section to let him know how proud his dad would be.
One wrote: “Wonderful legacy for your Dad Adam.”

Agricultural programme Countryfile launched on the BBC in 1988. In its long history, the show's seen several presenters come and go. Let's take a look at the current line-up.
- John Craven: The longest-serving presenter, having debuted in 1989, John is also known for his work on Newsround from 1972–1989.
- Adam Henson: Adam, who comes from a farming family, joined the presenting team in 2001. His other media work includes BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today and BBC Two’s Lambing Live.
- Matt Baker: Having joined the line-up in 2009, Matt also presented The One Show alongside Alex Jones from 2011 to 2020. Before that, he hosted Blue Peter from 1999 to 2006.
- Tom Heap: Tom joined Countryfile in 2009 and in April 2012, he took over the investigative reporter role from John Craven. He has also presented The Climate Show on Sky News.
- Helen Skelton: Another former Blue Peter presenter, she hosted the beloved children’s programme from 2008 to 2013. Helen joined the Countryfile team in 2014 and has competed in Strictly Come Dancing.
- Anita Rani: Anita was added to Countryfile in 2015 and has presented other programmes for the Beeb including The Refugee Camp: Our Desert Home, among others.
- Sean Fletcher: Newsreader and presenter Sean joined Countryfile in 2015. He is also known for Good Morning Britain, Songs of Praise and BBC Breakfast.
Another added: “What a wonderful Bursary Ad! Your Father’s legacy lives on. He was very proud of you!”
With over two decades under his belt, Adam is the second-longest serving Countryfile presenter after John Craven.
He lives on the 1,600-acre Bemborough Farm with his wife Charlie and their two children Alfie and Ella.
