Pokémon introduces a brand-new ‘mon to Scarlet & Violet alongside Dragonite tera raids
THIS summer The Pokémon Company has been holding a number of events in Scarlet & Violet so that players can pick up new Pokémon.
The events have just turned over in the Nintendo Switch games, meaning the Dondozo raids and Tatsugiri outbreaks are gone.
Dragonite raids are available for the next week[/caption]However, that means there is room for new events, including a brand-new Pokémon never before available in Scarlet & Violet.
Hisuian Sliggoo (and therefore Hisuian Goodra) are available in the latest Generation of Pokémon for the first time, appearing in limited-time outbreaks.
If you want to catch one, all you need to do is check your game for new outbreaks, and go for the outbreak with the question mark on the Kitakami map.
Hisuian Sliggoo evolves into Hisuian Goodra at level 50, but only when it’s raining. This means you might have to wait for the weather to change before it evolves.
Hisuian Goodra is a particularly strong Pokémon, as it comes with the moves Iron Defense and Body Press to deal huge amounts of damage.
With its great defenses and Shell Armor, it can also be very difficult to take out during battles.
Players can also take part in seven-star Dragonite Tera raids and catch themselves Dragonite the Unrivaled.
This is a difficult fight to take down, but here is its set if you want to prepare.
The Mightiest Dragonite – Level 100
- Nature – Brave
- Ability – Inner Focus
- Item – None
- Tera type – Normal
- Move set – Extreme Speed, Dragon Dance, Scale Shot, Earthquake, Thunder, Rain Dance, Hurricane, Draco Meteor
Luckily, there is one Pokémon with great defenses that is particularly good at taking down Dragonite.
Orthworm can use the same Iron Defense Body Press setup that Hisuian Goodra uses to take it down.
It’s Steel typing resists Dragon- and Normal-type moves, while its ability Earth Eater makes it immune to Fighting-type moves.
If you use Iron Defense before you Terastallise, then you will have enough defense that you don’t have to worry about Dragonite’s attacks.
Here’s the set we recommend:
Orthworm – Level 100
- Nature – Bold
- Ability – Earth Eater
- Item – Leftovers
- Tera type – Fighting
- Move set – Mud-Slap, Iron Defense, Body Press, Substitute
Both the Sliggoo outbreaks and the Dragonite raids are available from Friday, August 23, 2024, until Sunday, September 1, 2024.
