Head makeup artist’s trick for hooded eyelids will give you a ‘seamless look’ – plus the best concealers for fine lines
A MAKEUP artist wants you to put your best face forward by bringing your eyes out of hiding – she also draws a line against fine lines.
And those aren’t the only beauty tricks she has up her skin-saving sleeve.

Drita Paljevic, head makeup artist of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, has shared her biggest eye-popping tips to open up your eyes.
“Start by applying a base color to your eyelid,” she told The U.S. Sun.
“Make sure you contour the eyelids with a matte eyeshadow that is three to four shades darker than the base and always blend the eyeshadow out for a seamless look,” she added.
To avoid the appearance of aging eyes, one step will make the most dramatic difference.
“Place eyeshadow over the hooded area. Always smudge out your eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner will accentuate the droopy/hooded lids,” she said.
LINE IN THE SAND
To fight against fine lines, she recommends one particular beauty buy.
“Look for concealers with hyaluronic acid in the ingredient list, which helps hydrate the skin,” she said.
She shared the methods behind her makeup madness.
“Before applying makeup, prepare your skin with a hydrating face and eye cream to plump the skin and undereye area,” she said.
“Allow the creams to fully absorb into your skin before beginning your makeup routine to avoid creasing,” she added.
She shared how the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is an ideal multi-use product that can help you achieve either a natural look – or even full-coverage glam.
She swears by the $37 versatile buy that can be used as a foundation, concealer, or corrector, to create a “flawless base.”
READY FOR YOUR COMPLEXION CLOSEUP
To rewind the clock, she lives by the philosophy that “less is more,” especially when it comes to using makeup on more mature skin.
“Make sure the skin is prepped with hydrating skincare before applying makeup,” she said.
“Opt for creamy-based makeup products instead of matte or full-coverage options, as they are less likely to emphasize skin texture,” she added.

“Only set the skin with powder where necessary as it accentuates fine lines and wrinkles.”
POP, DROP, AND LOCK IT IN
The contour craze made popular by the Kardashians is here to stay, and her tips will help you slay a more sculpted look.
You’ll want to start by looking in the mirror and centering in on any problem areas.
“Begin contouring by hiding the areas of concern with a darker shade,” she said.
To really make things pop – or at least your cheekbones – she advises identifying your skin tone so that you can best select the blush shade most suited to you.
“Stick to warm-toned bushes if you have a warm undertone, and cool-toned blushes if you have a cool undertone,” she said.
Her pro skincare trick involves applying a moisturizer that works with your skin type as well as your favorite foundation.
And don’t be fooled by the fake looks you see from filter modifications on social media.
“What you see on social media is a myth, as most makeup artists and models on social media use filters to blur skin texture/imperfections,” she said.
