Moment man is brutally hacked up by Glasgow machete gang as thugs jailed for horror attack
TWO thugs guilty of a horror machete attack that went viral online have been jailed for a total of 10 years.
Jordan Logan, 29, and Cameron Carnwath, 25, were captured on mobile phone footage lashing out at Christopher Foy in Glasgow’s Dennistoun on May 30, 2023.
A judge heard how the pair struck amid “escalating tension” between them and Foy.
Foy – who has since died due to unrelated causes – suffered multiple wounds to his back, head, limbs and a suspected broken leg.
Logan and Carnwath pleaded guilty to assaulting the man to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life in May.
The pair – who already had a record for violence and weapons – were sentenced today at the High Court in Glasgow.
Lord Arthurson jailed Logan for four years and eight months with Carnwath locked up for five years and four months.
Prosecutor Kath Harper told the earlier hearing: “The incident was a culmination of escalating tension between the accused, Foy and his associates.
“It is captured on mobile phone footage with one of the three filming themselves and posting it on Snapchat verbally abusing Foy after the assault.
“The incident has had media attention with the videos being repeatedly shared on social media.”
Foy was in the area that night with others. He was said to have had a “large-bladed weapon” on him.
Carnwath – clutching a machete – and an unknown associate with a baseball bat then appeared from behind parked cars and ran at Foy.
Logan and Cameron Ferguson, 33, arrived on the scene having climbed a wall.
There was then a fight in full view of nearby flats which saw Foy being struck with machetes, knives and the bat by Logan, Carnwath as well as the other male.
The court was told how Foy was heard “screaming” in the graphic footage that was captured.
“This was a deliberate and brutal attack and Carnwath and Logan will now face the consequences of their actions.”

Carnwarth was described as making a “chopping” motion at Foy’s legs
Ferguson – who had his own leg injury – stood at the top of a hill smoking a cigarette as the attack occurred.
Miss Harper: “He remains there as the others walk away taunting Foy on camera.
“All suspects then walked over the grass area and climbed a fence.”
Foy tried to stand, but ended up slumped on the ground.
He was later treated at hospital for a number of wounds.
Miss Harper: “A doctor confirmed that they could have been, in total, life threatening.”
Foy refused to give a statement to police at the time.
But, the advocate depute said that, as a result of the social media clips, it lead to the trio being identified.
Ferguson was also accused of being involved in the attack.
But, his not guilty plea was accepted and he instead admitted having a machete in a public place. He was jailed for two years at a previous hearing.
‘No place for this kind of violence’
Lord Arthurson told Logan and Carnwath that they had “pleaded guilty to an extremely serious offence”.
Detective Inspector Gary Cassidy said: “This kind of violence has no place in our communities.
“This was a deliberate and brutal attack and Carnwath and Logan will now face the consequences of their actions.
“I would like to extend my thanks the public for their assistance with this investigation.”
