Student makes threat at Shawnee County high school
SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) - Education officials sent a message back to parents of teens at a Shawnee County high school Friday of an alleged threat made by one of its students.
Tiffanie Kinsch with Shawnee Heights Unified School District 450 told 27 News in a written statement that a threat was made by a student to Shawnee Heights High School on Aug. 23.
"We were made aware of the threat through our StopIt reporting app and immediately worked with Officers to investigate," Kinsch said. "The student was removed from the school setting."
Kinsch said while it is believed there was no genuine intent behind the threat, it was still treated seriously by school administrators for the safety of other students, staff and the community. She did not say what the nature of the threat to the school was.
