Family’s tribute to ‘beloved mam’, 84, killed in horror crash
The devastated relatives of a ‘beloved mam’ who was killed in a horror crash near a Welsh resort have paid tribute to her, saying she was the ‘heart of the family’.
Jean Harris, 84, died in a two-vehicle crash in Barmouth on Friday, August 23.
Four other people were taken to hospital, three of whom remain there with serious injuries.
In a tribute, Mrs Harris’ family said: ‘We are truly heartbroken that our beloved Mam has been taken from us too soon.
‘She was the heart of our large family, and our lives will never be the same again. She will be so terribly missed.’
Police continue to appeal for witnesses and information following Friday’s collision, which happened on the A496 in an area known locally as the Glandwr Straight shortly before 1.14pm.
The collision involved a white Suzuki Ignis and a silver Kia Carens.
Mrs Harris was declared dead at the scene.
Four other people were taken to hospital in Stoke.
Three were transported via air ambulance and one via road ambulance.
Three remain in hospital with serious injuries. One was discharged from hospital this morning.
Detective Constable Eleri Jones of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said: ‘Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this difficult time.
‘We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A496 prior to the collision and who has dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.’
